I recently found my kitty Pepe after 3 nights. I saw her last on Sunday night just before 8.00pm in my lounge room. On Monday night at 10.00pm we set out down the street and a few blocks around calling for her. My partner did the same between 2.00 - 3.00am. On Tuesday, I made 30 A4 posters and we stuck them to poles around the neighbourhood with a lot more around our immediate area. We checked with neighbours. We posted to all the lost and found pet groups in our area. Posted to face book. Lots of people shared. I put up a poster at my vet only, for the time being. She is microchipped. I rang the pound. I joined Lost Pet Finders Wednesday night but found my girl that next morning. Use all the resources that you can. We did the same search on Tuesday and Wednesday nights but with food and a torch this time. On Wednesday, I knocked on 4 houses in the street behind us. Only 2 answered and I gave them posters. On Wednesday night I set my alarm for 5.00am. I didn’t get to leave the house until 5.25am. I walked to the street behind us with some biscuits and the torch, calling out her name. She responded within minutes with heightened meows. She was on one of the houses roof. On the roof of the neighbour I spoke to. She disappeared but then came back on the footpath running toward me whilst meowing. I started walking slowly toward her and she ran off to the next door house side gate and crawled underneath to the other side. I could see her looking at me through the gaps. I called for her a few more times and she came to me quickly after that. I scooped her up, held her for dear life and walked quickly back home. She ate heartily and then wanted to go back outside! No chance of that. Our family is complete again. I wanted to share our persistent search for her and that it does work. But you need to physically look for them yourself. No one else wilI. They don't love them like you do. Unfortunately, most people will forget you asked them to keep an eye out. See full comment
